Lunch Bunch
This program at Chapel School welcomes Chapel School students who are enrolled in the 3's and 4's classes. The Lunch Bunch program will build upon and offer an opportunity for your child to practice the small group interaction and social language skills that are emphasized in the classroom setting. The program will run from 11:35-12:25 Monday through Friday. Teacher directed games, songs, and an occasional video/story with related activity will follow a supervised lunch period where the children will practice manners and conversational turn taking skills in a meal setting. Children are asked to bring a lunch with beverage that does not require refrigeration. The fee for this program is $6.00 per lunch period payable monthly. The program is limited to 8-10 children per day. You may register your child for 1 or more days per week. Registration information will be posted monthly.
Lunch Bunch Color Days
More fun has been added to lunch bunch days! We have added fruit and vegetable color days. Children are asked to bring in a fruit or vegetable of a specific color on each day.
- Monday - Yellow
- Tuesday - Red
- Wednesday - Orange
- Thursday - Green
- Friday - Any color fruit or vegetable
This is a great way to add another serving of a fruit or vegetable to your child's day. It is also a great way to encourage your child to try something new. Ask your lunch buncher about our Garden Heroes. We have 39 fruit and vegetable bean bags with great names. We tell stories, sing songs and have riddles all about these wonderful characters.
The children loved this number food rhyme that we did last week:
One, two, three, four
(child's name) at the kitchen door.
Five, six, seven, eight.
Eating (fill in fruit or vegetable name) off her plate.
We clap our hands as we say the numbers. Try it at home for some mealtime fun!
