teacher reflections

"My favorite part of teaching these young children is watching them light up with unlimited possibilities as they explore and play in both their indoor and outdoor environments, asking questions and making new discoveries.  Watching them show so much love and compassion towards their friends as they fall in love with learning...it's a teacher's dream!"

"Being a teacher is always a fun adventure with the children, we are always learning from each other daily! Seeing the children's smiling faces brings so much happiness and joy to my day!  Helping children and their families is such a rewarding part of working at Chapel School."

"Working with two-year-old children is awesome!  It is such a joy to see the wonder and amazement in their expressions as they have new experiences at school.  I love to see them interact with their classmates and form relationships with them as the school year progresses.  My wish is that each child is having as much fun as I am having each morning!"

"My philosophy for learning and teaching is that each child is unique, and each child learns in a different way.  One of my jobs as a teacher is to help your child discover his or her individuality and work alongside them to maximize it.  I believe in hands-on experiences, learning creatively and learning through play.  I also like to extend lessons in kindness, empathy, courage and compassion while teaching the children in my classroom - as I believe in these values tremendously myself!"

"I love the children's excitement for learning and exploring new ideas, both physically and intellectually.  I love how they learn to work together and care for each other, in our Chapel School family and as part of the greater community."

"We enjoy coming together as a class! Here in our classroom we put each other first.  We learn to cooperate and share our thoughts and feelings with our friends.  In a short amount of time we are united as a Chapel School Family and the bonds made between the staff and children are so precious.  Our philosophy is based on paying attention to the unique gifts and talents of each child in our class, nurturing their development in a warm, safe and loving environment."

"I love working with the three-year-old age group.  There are many teachable moments at this age, as they are learning so many new concepts everyday.  It is a great feeling for me to help them, guide them, and be part of their learning experience.  I enjoy the connections that I make whether it's during our snack where they tell me funny stories about their family, or what is going on with them and what they are going to do when they get home.  I like to see them finding their interests during our center time and be involved when they invite me to join them and see what they are making."

"I love being with children and playing and learning with them. It's amazing that children are so naturally curious!  The mindfulness courses that I have taken have helped in being in the moment with my students.  I love watching them grow and sharing my love of the outdoors, gardening, cooking and singing with them."
